So now that we've beat Poland 3 times in the last couple of years I feel like they are the US national team's "friend with benefits"; whenever we need someone we know we can get a result with in Europe, the Fed makes a booty call to Krakow.

Well, that may all be true. But by my count, that's three goals on three set pieces. And yes, they all count. But let's face it: we don't look so good on the offensive run of play.
(And, pssst, our back line of Cherundolo - Gooch - Carlos - Pearce (?!) doesn't exactly strike fear in the heart.)

There was an old NFL Films piece about Buffalo QB Jim Kelly. He and his brother here in Houston had a house down in Sugar Land and they were touring the camera guy around. There was some friend of the Kellys there who apparently used to just hang out at their house. Jim Kelly introduced the guy to the camera and said: "This is Bud. Bud we just keep around the house because we like to beat him at stuff."
That's pretty much us and the Poles at this point.
